TRIBUNFLORES.COM, ENDE – Ende Police Chief, AKBP Yudhi Franata, has expressed his support for the Argentina national football team, the defending champions heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He also revealed that his favourite player is Lionel Messi.
“I support Argentina. My favourite player is Lionel Messi. I believe Argentina can win again,” said AKBP Yudhi Franata enthusiastically on Thursday (4 June 2026).
In addition to Lionel Messi, who continues to serve as team captain, Argentina’s squad features several star players such as Lautaro Martínez, Julián Álvarez, and Nico Paz, along with other top talents playing for major European clubs.
Public Viewing Event in Ende
Beyond voicing his support, AKBP Yudhi Franata also announced plans to organise a public viewing event for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the people of Ende Regency.
“We will keep monitoring the updates, and we will definitely hold the public viewing together with the people of Ende,” he stated.
He also advised residents participating in or hosting public viewing events to maintain public safety and order, and to stay vigilant against motorcycle theft and other criminal activities.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026 across North America, with the United States, Canada, and Mexico serving as host nations.
This edition marks a historic milestone as it will be the first time the tournament is jointly hosted by three countries and will feature 48 national teams. (Bet)
