N. Sriram Balaji and Brazilian partner Marcelo Demoliner produced a major upset at the French Open, defeating sixth-seeded German duo Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the men’s doubles quarterfinals.
The Indo-Brazilian pair secured the victory in one hour and 25 minutes, reaching a maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal for both players. It marked their third consecutive win in the tournament and highlighted their growing chemistry on clay. While Balaji celebrated a career milestone at French Open, fellow Indian Yuki Bhambri and partner Michael Venus exited the men’s doubles draw.
Meanwhile, junior player Arnav Paparkar progressed to the boys’ singles Round of 16.
