New Delhi: India Meteorological Department has released a new weather update for Wednesday, June 3. The south-west monsoon is moving rapidly towards Kerala. Due to this effect, rains will increase in South India. There will be strong winds along with thunderstorms in many states of North-West, Central and Eastern India. Storm-like conditions may occur at some places.
Weather patterns will change in North India
The weather will be active in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western UP and Rajasthan. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi on Tuesday. Dust storm and hailstorm may occur in eastern and western Rajasthan. There is a dust storm warning for western Rajasthan. There will be strong winds with light rain or drizzle in Delhi-NCR. This will provide some relief in temperature.
Rain with strong winds in eastern India
There will be rain and thundershowers in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal and Sikkim. Winds may blow at a speed of 50 to 70 km per hour in Odisha on June 3. Light to moderate rain will continue over Arunachal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy rain is expected at some places in Arunachal.
Alert regarding crops in Central India
The weather will also remain changed in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha on June 3. There will be light to moderate rain and thundershowers in many areas. Strong storm of 50 to 70 km per hour may occur in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers have been asked to remain alert to save their crops. Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada of Maharashtra will remain cloudy and there will be rain at some places.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in the south
Rainfall will intensify in Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at many places in Kerala. There are chances of heavy rains in coastal and interior parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Karnataka. There will be rain and thundershowers in Telangana, Rayalaseema and Andhra Pradesh. During this period, winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour. Wind speed can reach 60 to 70 km per hour in coastal Andhra and Telangana.
There will be fluctuations in temperature
It is noteworthy that the maximum temperature in North-West India may increase slightly by June 3. Temperature will drop in Maharashtra. The mercury will be above normal in eastern India. Rain and storm will provide relief from heat in many states. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to stay away from open fields, trees and electric poles during bad weather.
