New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the new ODI rankings, in which Virat Kohli has gained one place and is now included in the top-5 batsmen. Despite Team India not playing any ODI match this week, the flop performance of Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has benefited Kohli and Sri Lanka’s Charit Aslanka. India captain Rohit Sharma remains at the first position in ICC’s ODI batting rankings. It has 781 rating points. In the series against Australia, Rohit played unbeaten innings of 73 runs in the second ODI and 121 runs in the third ODI. On the basis of this performance, Rohit had reached the top a few weeks ago and has now maintained his position.

Virat Kohli had scored zero runs in the first two ODIs against Australia, but played a good inning of 74 runs in the third match. However, this innings did not contribute to his ranking improvement, however, Virat gained one place due to Babar Azam’s poor performance. Babar Azma played three ODIs against South Africa and Sri Lanka last week, in which he scored 11, 27 and 29 runs respectively. Due to this, Babar has dropped from fifth place to seventh place in the ranking.
