Amit Shah held border security meeting in Bikaner: Instructions given to make 360° security grid for border districts

Bikaner, 27 May. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah chaired a security review meeting in Bikaner, Rajasthan on Wednesday. In the meeting, a detailed review of security issues to the districts bordering India-Pakistan border was done.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, senior officials of the state government and District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sriganganagar and Phalodi participated in the meeting. During this, emphasis was laid on making border management more powerful and comprehensive by establishing better coordination with the state government.

Will be made for border districts 360° security framework

In the meeting, it was decided to prepare a 360 degree security framework for each border district. This integrated effort will ensure active participation of local citizens, state government machinery and all concerned security agencies, thereby making border management more strong and effective.

15 Instructions to remove illegal construction within km radius

Amit Shah stressed the need to strictly implement zero tolerance policy against illegal constructions. He especially gave instructions to raze the illegal constructions taking place within a radius of 0-15 kilometers from the International Border.

Strictness on infiltration and narcotics smuggling

The Home Minister stressed on adopting a coordinated border management strategy between the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and state government agencies. He said that infiltration, narcotics smuggling, encroachment, terrorist funding and other cross-border crimes should be effectively curbed.

Special instructions given to DM

Amit Shah directed district magistrates to ensure legal and financial compliance in all banks, verify large business establishments and investigate their funding sources. Also, effective control on smuggling should be established by identifying mule accounts, shell companies and fake Aadhaar cards.

Focus on cyber crime and new laws

In the meeting, emphasis was laid on effective use of ‘1930’ call centers for prevention of cyber crimes. Apart from this, instructions were also given for effective implementation of three new criminal laws to strengthen law and order and judicial processes in the area.

During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on effective implementation of Vibrant Village Program-II (VVP-II). Under this, emphasis was laid on providing good governance to the last mile, curbing economic crimes, removing the lack of infrastructure and providing support to the border population. Besides, it was said to ensure 100% saturation of all government schemes in border villages.

Modi government’s special priority on border security

It was said in the meeting that the Government of India under the leadership of Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring the highest level of security on the international borders. Also, emphasis was laid on strengthening the overall development and security of border areas by enhancing better coordination between central and state agencies.
