Patna District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M. has issued a letter stating that, due to the prevailing high temperatures in the district—specifically the severe heat experienced during the afternoon hours—there is a likelihood of adverse effects on the health and safety of children. Consequently, acting under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, all academic activities for classes up to Grade 5—encompassing all private and government schools, as well as pre-schools and Anganwadi centers within the district—shall remain completely prohibited. Furthermore, academic activities for classes ranging from Grade 6 to Grade 8 shall be conducted only until 10:30 AM.
In accordance with the orders of Patna District Magistrate Dr. Tyagarajan S.M., directives have been issued to all school managements, instructing them to reschedule their academic activities strictly in compliance with the issued order. Any institution found to be in violation of this order shall be subject to punitive action. This order shall remain in force from May 22 to May 26.
