Authorities in Da Nang City are investigating an incident in which a foreign man climbed onto a parked car, damaged the vehicle, and caused a disturbance in the busy An Thuong tourist area.
The man was reportedly in a mentally unstable state, according to Phap Taken newspaper.
His nationality has not been revealed.
Footage of the incident spread across Vietnamese social media platforms on Sunday.
The video showed a shirtless foreign man wearing shorts suddenly running into the street before climbing onto the roof of a parked car along Hoang Ke Viem Street in An Thuong, a popular tourist area in Ngu Hanh Son Ward, Lao Dong newspaper reported.
He was seen repeatedly stomping on and striking the vehicle before lying on top of it. Before leaving the scene, the man also broke the car’s rear windshield wiper.
Local police launched an investigation shortly after receiving reports of the disturbance.
