Obnews Tech Desk: Whatsapp users are going to get a new and extremely useful feature soon. Meta is continuously improving it by adding new features to its instant messaging platform. Recently the Read Voice Message feature was introduced and now the company is preparing to add UPI LETE feature.
UPI Lite and Bill Payment feature on WhatsApp
Meta is working not only on UPI Lite but also on Bill Payment feature. With the help of these new features, Whatsapp, Google Pay, PhonePe and other digital payment can compete with tough competition. Whatsapp already supports UPI payment, but now according to reports, UPI Lite feature can also be added to this platform.
Spotted in beta version UPI LITE feature
Whatsapp's UPI LITE Payment option was recently spotted by Android Authority. This feature has been seen in the WhatsApp Beta V2.25.5.17 version, indicating that it is currently in testing phase.
When will the new feature be launched?
Since this feature is currently available in the beta version, it is difficult to say how long it will be rolled out in the stable version. However, according to the information revealed during beta testing, this feature will work even if the server remains busy and the chances of it fail will be very low.
What will be special with UPI Lite?
- Pin-free transaction: Users will be able to make small payments without registering any pin.
- Available only on primary device: This feature will only work on the main device and it will not be used on a linked device.
- Fast and safe transactions: This will make the transaction more fast and safe as the payment will be from the pre -loaded amount.
What is UPI Lite?
The UPI Lite was launched last year and is an extension of UPI, designed for small transactions. The specialty of this feature is that it does not require real-time banking system, so that small payments can be made easily.
