The cunning people are committing fraud in different ways. This gang roams around the city area all day and identifies such shopkeepers who can be easily cheated. These cunning people reach the shop in groups. After purchasing the goods, they engage the shopkeeper in conversation during payment. In this sequence, they scan the QR code through a fake app on the mobile and create a fake transaction ID with its help and show the message of successful payment to the shopkeeper and then leave.
Thugs carry speakers with them
To avoid these, companies providing UPI facility have given the option of speaker so that shopkeepers are not cheated. Now the cunning people have found a way around this as well. They carry speakers of different companies with them. They keep their own speakers scanned. While making payment, they confuse the shopkeeper and make the payment on their own speaker. As soon as the payment is confirmed on the speaker, they leave from there.
