RBI extends benefits of the public with UPI Lite: The most popular service in the age of digitalization is cashless transactions. Now, even if you pay someone as little as ten rupees, most of the people choose the online payment method. The demand for UPI payments is increasing day by day. UPI payment method is breaking its own records every month. Now not only UPI, UPI Lite (UPI Lite) demand is also increasing. There is no need to enter a PIN number to make a payment through UPI Lite. Only for these features, the adoption of UPI Lite is increasing at a great rate among the common people.

In the past few years, the demand for UPI has increased by leaps and bounds among the common people. Now UPI payment method is not limited to mobile phones only. Small or big businessmen are also using this method. Customers can pay easily by scanning the QR code. But according to a survey, the UPI payment method is generally used to make payments of around Rs.200. The demand for these small money payments is so high that sometimes payments get stuck. Moreover, it takes time for the customers to clear the payment by setting the PIN number. So UPI Lite was launched in 2022. This method does not require any pin number for small amount payments. But it also has a limitation. Money can be kept in UPI Lite wallet up to a certain limit. Large amounts of money cannot be transacted through UPI Lite.

Some more new features have been added to UPI Lite by Reserve Bank of India. UPI Lite has a fixed limit. The customer does not have to use any PIN until the specified amount is paid. But there is a small problem here. Customers complain that customers have to recharge repeatedly in case of using UPI Lite wallet. Since there is a limit on the payment, you have to recharge and transfer the money to the UPI Lite wallet repeatedly. RBI is working to solve this problem.

After the Reserve Bank of India MPC meeting, RBI Governor made an announcement regarding UPI Lite. He said, henceforth there will be no need to recharge the UPI Lite wallet. From now on, if the amount of money in the UPI Lite wallet falls below the specified limit, the money will be directly transferred from the customer's bank account to the wallet in an automatic process. As a result, the customer no longer has to worry about recharging again and again. For automatic money transfer, permission will be taken from the customer at the outset. That is, when a customer opens an account for the first time, permission will be sought from him to initiate the automatic recharge procedure.

UPI Lite (UPI Lite) wallet does not need to use any PIN number up to the specified limit while making payments. As a result, transactions become much faster and easier. Due to this reason UPI Lite has gained popularity among common people. From now on, UPI Lite will work under the e-mandate process. That is, if the amount of money stored in the UPI Lite wallet falls below the specified limit, the wallet will be recharged directly from the customer's bank account in an automatic process. In this case, the customer has to turn on the permission indicator option while opening the account. Then the customer will never have to face the problem of recharging later. The UPI Lite service is going to be rolled out on a larger scale with these new features. Due to the new features, RBI believes that the demand for using UPI Lite among common people will increase much more.
