The net profit of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country's largest insurance company in the public sector, stood at Rs 13,763 crore with a marginal increase of two per cent in the fourth quarter of the last financial year ending March 2024. The insurance company had earlier made a net profit of Rs 13,428 crore in the same quarter of the financial year 2022-23. The special thing is that in these 90 days, LIC has made a profit of Rs 10.62 lakh every minute.
Increase in income to premium
LIC said in a notice to the stock market on Monday that its total income increased to Rs 2,50,923 crore in the January-March quarter of the last financial year 2023-24, which was Rs 2,00,185 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. The company's first year premium income also improved to Rs 13,810 crore in the quarter ended March 2024, from Rs 12,811 crore in the same quarter a year ago. LIC's net profit for the entire financial year 2023-24 stood at Rs 40,676 crore, which was Rs 36,397 crore in the previous financial year.
Slight rise in stock
If we talk about shares, then on Monday, LIC shares saw a slight increase. According to the data, LIC shares saw a rise of 0.58 percent i.e. 6 rupees and the company's share closed at Rs 1035.80. However, the company's share opened at Rs 1034.25 on Monday. During the trading session, the company's share also reached Rs 1053.95. In the last one month, LIC shares have seen an increase of about 6 percent. At the same time, in 6 months, LIC shares have seen an increase of about 54 percent. In the last one year, LIC shares have increased by more than 71 percent.
