Gurinderveer Singh of Punjab created history, made national record in 100 meter race

Jalandhar, 24 May 2026: Punjab’s Gurinderveer Singh creates history Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has specially congratulated young Punjab sprinter Gurinderveer Singh, who has created a new national record in 100 meter race, and has described his achievement as a proud moment for the state and the country. The Chief Minister said that the son of Punjab has made the country proud through his hard work and talent.

Gurinderveer Singh created history by clocking 10.09 seconds in the Federation Cup Athletics Championship in Ranchi on Saturday. He became the first Indian player to complete 100 meters race in less than 10.10 seconds. After his achievement, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann congratulated him by posting a message in Punjabi on social media.

Made Punjab famous at international level

The Chief Minister said that this brave youth of Punjab has created a new national record by completing the race in just 10.09 seconds. He said that Gurinderveer Singh has proved that the youth of Punjab can lead the country in sports. The Chief Minister said that the entire Punjab is proud of this player.

Bhagwant Mann also noted in his message that Gurinderveer Singh continues to make Punjab proud at the national and international level. He had expressed hope that this player will continue to create new records for the country in the future and will hoist the Indian flag on the international platform.
