Indian Railways has recently made a big revelation after investigating several incidents of fire in trains. According to Railways, the role of anti-social elements has come to light in many cases including Amarpura in Rajasthan, Kota, Sasaram in Bihar and Howrah in West Bengal. Investigation revealed that an attempt was made to deliberately set fire to the bedsheets of the train in Amarpura, while in Howrah a cloth soaked in petrol was found in the bathroom of the coach. Flames were seen rising from the bathroom of Rajdhani Express in Kota and in Sasaram, an unidentified person threw a burning object in an empty coach. In some cases, short circuit has also been said to be the cause of fire. Railways has appealed to passengers to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious activity.
