IAF AFCAT 2 Exam 2026: Today's update regarding government jobs concerns the Indian Air Force's Common Admission Test (AFCAT 2) 2026. The Air Force has officially released the notification for this examination. According to the notification, online applications for AFCAT 2 will commence on May 20. Candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website, afcat.cdac.in. The deadline for submitting the application form is June 19.

Through this recruitment drive, a total of 142 officers will be inducted into the Flying and Ground Duty branches of the Indian Air Force. If you aspire to join the Air Force, this is your opportunity to take the first step toward fulfilling that dream.

Educational Qualifications

Ground Duty Branch: Candidates must hold a degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.

Flying Branch

Passed Class 12 (with Mathematics and Physics) with 50% marks, OR
A three-year graduation degree with 60% marks, OR
A B.E. or B.Tech. degree with 60% marks.

AFCAT 2 2026: Age Limit for AFCAT

For AFCAT 2 2026, the age of candidates will be calculated based on July 1, 2027. For the Ground Duty and Non-Technical branches, the minimum age limit is 20 years, and the maximum is 26 years. For the Flying Branch, the age limit ranges from 20 to 24 years. However, if a candidate possesses a valid and current Commercial Pilot License (CPL issued by the DGCA), the maximum age limit may be extended up to 26 years.

Application Fee

Candidates applying through the NCC Special Entry or GATE examination routes are exempted from paying the application fee. For all other candidates, the application fee is ₹550.

Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Subjects:

Maximum Marks: 300
Exam Duration: 2 Hours
AFCAT 2 2026: Training After Selection
Training will commence from the first week of July 2027 at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal (Hyderabad).

The training duration for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical) Branch will be 62 weeks.
The training duration for the Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch has been set at 50 weeks.
At the time of joining, candidates must possess a PAN Card and an account with the State Bank of India or any nationalized bank.
