Friends, in the growing modern era, social media is being used a lot, personal moments and even business advertisements are being run on it, in such a situation, concerns to privacy and secure communication are becoming more and more important for users all over the world. People are now looking for more secure and private ways to share photos, messages and everyday moments with their closest friends. Due to which Instagram has introduced a great new feature, named “Instants, let’s know about it-
This feature is designed to make private conversations more real, private and secure. Through Instants, users can send real-time photos in DMs that automatically disappear a few seconds after being viewed.
Instagram’s “Instants” feature launched worldwide
Instagram has officially started rolling out the Instants feature globally, including India. The feature appears directly inside Instagram DMs and focuses on creating genuine, unfiltered conversations between users.
What are “Instants” and how does it work?
The Instants feature can be accessed through a small “Photo Stack” icon in the bottom-right corner of the Instagram inbox. This icon indicates that friends have shared a new Instant Photo.
Unlike Stories or Reels, Instants don’t offer editing or filter options. Users can simply add a caption before taking a photo. Photos can be shared with:
Close Friends
Mutual followers (people who follow each other)
This feature is specifically designed for casual and impromptu sharing.
Photos disappear immediately after being viewed
Today’s users are posting less on their public profile grid and preferring to share more privately. Instants was created for users who want to share everyday moments naturally, without excessive editing or filters.
As soon as the recipient views the photo, it immediately disappears, making this feature similar to Snapchat.
Special emphasis on privacy and security:
Protection from screenshots and screen recording
According to reports, users will not be able to take screenshots or screen recordings of Instant Photos.
Private archive for senders
Photos disappear for recipients, but senders can store them securely in a private archive for up to a year. Later, these photos can be turned into a “Recap” and shared as a Story.
