Armed Forces Participate in Fit India Cycling Event

On May 10, the 73rd edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle transformed the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium into a vibrant display of olive green, navy white, and air force blue. Personnel from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force joined citizens for a special Armed Forces-themed cycling event.

Over 800 individuals participated, including 60 armed forces representatives—20 each from the Army, Navy, and Air Force—alongside athletes, fitness enthusiasts, students, and families.

Additionally, around 15 players from the Indian Air Force Cricket Team joined the cycling group, creating a striking visual as uniformed personnel cycled through Delhi in formation, according to a press release from SAI Media.

Officials Commend Fitness Initiative

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Group Captain MLS Prasad from the Indian Air Force, Lt Col Dara Singh from the Indian Army, and Captain Manish Sain from the Indian Navy, along with wrestlers Priya Malik and Diksha Malik, both affiliated with the Indian Army.

Group Captain Prasad expressed, "I represent the armed forces today. Our soldier-athletes are leading the cycling group, and we are pleased that Fit India has organized this special edition for us. The goal of the armed forces is to ensure every citizen remains fit and healthy."

Lt Col Dara Singh highlighted the initiative's positive social message, stating, "We appreciate SAI for selecting the armed forces as special partners today. Events like these promote the spirit of Nasha Mukti and discipline. Just as armed forces members rise early and stay active, every citizen should embrace a healthy lifestyle. This aligns with Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision for a fit India."
