Talking about the story, Ankit’s father is a driver by profession who became a victim of online fraud. Seeing this, the son did not give up and UPI system Decided to find the flaws. After which Ankit now claims that he has discovered three major technical weaknesses of the existing UPI system, taking advantage of which cyber criminals empty people’s bank accounts.
3 major flaws found in UPI system
In the information given by Ankit, he has claimed that during the research he has discovered three such bugs which can be very dangerous for common users. The first bug in this is to Chrome Intent Vulnerability. Due to which any dangerous website can directly open the payment app without your permission.
The second bug is Authentication Bypass. With this, app lock or biometric security can also be dodged. But the most dangerous is the third bug Audio Hijack which is not suitable for any common person.
How does audio hijack fraud happen?
According to Ankit’s information, when the user opens the app to make payment, a fake app present in the background can play fake audio. If explained with the help of example, the user may hear that he has to enter the PIN to receive the money. Many common people consider these as real instructions and enter the PIN, due to which people become victims of fraud. On this matter, cyber experts believe that with the increase in digital payments, cases of such fraud are increasing rapidly. Due to which online banking security is now becoming the biggest challenge.
Ankit prepared a new and secure UPI system
After seeing all these problems, Ankit has created a new UPI system and mobile application to remove these shortcomings. Ankit claims that this system can prevent cyber fraud as well as eliminate erroneous transactions. The special thing about this new technology is that Ankit does not want to earn money from his technology. He says that he wants to give this technology to the Government of India for free so that crores of UPI users can get it safely.
Expecting help from the government
Ankit, a resident of Haryana, has also sent his reports to Google’s security system. Due to which major flaws can be rectified. Now Ankit wants the government and security agencies to use his research to completely stop cyber crimes so that such incidents do not happen in the future.
