On Saturday, emergency services reported that at least 15 individuals were hospitalized following a suspected explosion on a boat near a well-known sandbar in North Miami. The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team received alerts about a potential explosion at Haulover Sandbar around 12:50 PM local time, prompting a swift response from over 25 fire rescue units to the area located west of Haulover Beach Marina.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered several injured individuals. Authorities confirmed that 15 people were transported to medical facilities for care. However, officials have yet to verify if an explosion actually occurred or the specific cause of the injuries. Local media reported that audio from emergency dispatch indicated that some victims had sustained burns. A few were found in the water and were rescued by fire rescue boats, subsequently taken to nearby fuel docks for medical assistance before being transported to hospitals.

Air rescue teams were also dispatched to assist at the scene. Some of the injured were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, which includes a specialized burn treatment unit. As of now, there are no updates on the conditions of those affected, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
