Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a complete team performance on Wednesday night as they defeated table-toppers Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. From explosive batting to stunning fielding, SRH dominated key moments of the game to successfully defend a huge total of 235 runs.

The difference between the two teams was clearly visible in the field. While Punjab Kings dropped several catches and missed important chances, SRH looked sharp and energetic throughout the match. Their brilliant fielding helped them strike early blows in Punjab’s chase and put the visitors under pressure from the very beginning.

Punjab’s top order collapsed quickly as Priyansh Arya was dismissed for 1 by Pat Cummins, while Prabhsimran Singh managed only 3 before Nitish Kumar Reddy removed him. Captain Shreyas Iyer also failed to make an impact and was sent back for just 5 runs by Eashan Malinga, leaving Punjab in deep trouble early in the innings.

Earlier, SRH had built their massive total with several attacking performances. Abhishek Sharma gave the side a flying start by smashing 35 runs off just 13 balls before Lockie Ferguson dismissed him. Travis Head then added 38 off 19 deliveries before Yuzvendra Chahal ended his innings with Marco Jansen taking a catch near the boundary.

Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen then took charge of the innings. The duo guided SRH past the 100-run mark in only the eighth over and continued to punish Punjab’s bowlers, who were also let down by poor fielding. Ishan Kishan scored a rapid 55 before Arshdeep Singh finally dismissed him.

Heinrich Klaasen continued the attack and played another match-winning knock of 69 runs from 43 balls before Vyshak Vijaykumar removed him. Nitish Kumar Reddy remained unbeaten on 29 off 13 deliveries as SRH finished strongly on 235.

For Punjab Kings, Cooper Connolly fought alone with a brilliant maiden IPL century. Marcus Stoinis scored 28 off 14, while Suyash Shedge added 25 off 17. However, wickets kept falling regularly and Cooper Connolly’s effort eventually ended in a losing cause.
