Delhi’s Patiala House Court rejected the appeal of the American and Ukrainian embassy officials. The seven arrested foreign nationals are accused of coming to India on tourist visa, entering Myanmar illegally, and training the ethnic groups and terrorist organizations there to use weapons and drones.
Patiala House Court has extended by 30 days the judicial custody of an American and six other foreign nationals arrested in a case to national security.
A big shock has come to the 7 foreign nationals arrested under national security from Patiala House Court of Delhi. The Patiala House Court has extended the judicial custody of six foreign nationals, including an American national, by thirty days.
Along with this, the Patiala House Court also rejected the request of American and Ukrainian embassy officials to attend the hearing without the permission of the Ministry of External Affairs. Apart from this, during the hearing, arrested American citizen Matthew VanDyke requested for treatment in a private hospital and Ukrainian citizens requested to talk to their families on video call. After this, the court also directed the accused to file an application in this regard.
The arrested foreign nationals include Matthew Aaron Van Dyke, a US citizen, and Ukrainians Hruba Petro, Slivyak Taras, Ivan Sukmanovsky, Stefankiv Marian, Honcharuk Maksim and Kaminsky Viktor. Earlier on April 6 also, all these accused were presented in the court after the NIA custody period ended.
Let us tell you that the arrested accused have been produced in Delhi Court through video conferencing after the completion of 30 days of judicial custody. Where the court, while hearing the case, extended the judicial custody of the accused for thirty days.
