Prince Archie is celebrating his seventh birthday today and will undoubtedly have lots of presents to open on his special day. The eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be marking the special day with his nearest and dearest in Montecito, California.
His grandmother, Doria Ragland, will likely be attending the birthday celebrations. While Harry's son is likely to be spoiled rotten today with his favourite gifts, there was one special gift given to him by the late Queen Elizabeth that he won't ever forget.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have moved across the pond in 2020 after they quit their royal duties, while keeping their children out of the spotlight, but they've shared small glimpses into their family life over the years.
In 2021, Prince Harry spoke about how the late monarch once shipped a very special Christmas gift to her great-grandson.
The duke appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and revealed that Elizabeth asked him and Meghan what Archie, four, wanted for Christmas.
And it turns out that all little Archie, one and a half years old at the time, wanted was a waffle maker.
Harry said: "My son is now over a year and a half, he is hysterical, he's got the most amazing personality, he's already putting two, three words together, he's already singing songs."
He added: "His first word was 'crocodile', three syllables."
The duke then went on to reveal his late grandmother's special Christmas gift, saying: "Interestingly, my grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker. She sent us a waffle maker for Archie.
"So breakfast now, Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix in the waffle maker, flips it, and out it comes, he loves it. Archie literally wakes up in the morning and says 'waffle'."
According to the royal, Queen Elizabeth's sweet gift made him convert to waffles for breakfast too.
He added: "Now I have waffles for breakfast, a bit of yoghurt, a bit of jam on top. I don't know if that's the right thing to do..."
