Beyond Paradise season four is almost over as Humphrey Goodman faces his last complex case of the series. BBC fans will once again be saying goodbye to the Shipton Abbott- set cosy crime drama after season four's sixth and final episode airs tonight, Friday, May 1, at 8pm.
With the end now in sight, viewers' attention have turned to what they will be watching in its place next week with the BBC confirming two shows in its timeslot. The first Beyond Paradise replacement is an hour-long episode of Question Time at 7.30pm on Friday, May 8. Presenter Fiona Bruce returns for a post-election debate special "with a panel of politicians and other guests facing questions from the audience".
A very unique special, David Attenborough's 100 Years On Planet Earth, will then air at 8.30pm on BBC One.
The 90-minute long live event from Royal Albert Hall will pay tribute to the veteran broadcaster to celebrate his 100th birthday.
Describing what fans can expect, the official synopsis reads: "The show takes the audience on a journey of exploration and discovery through the prism of Sir David's extraordinary life and career, featuring wildlife stories, reflections from friends, colleagues and admirers."
The celebratory special is also going to feature music from some of Attenborough's favourite shows, performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra led by Jerome Kuhn.
But before its time for these two shows to air, there is still the end of Beyond Paradise season four to get excited about.
During the town's annual pirate festival, Geraldine Desai's (played by Melanie Walters) nautical exhibition goes up in flames and an ancient treasure map of pirate Elias Cutler goes missing.
So was the fire really an accident or a distraction technique for someone to steal the precious map?
Meanwhile, Humphrey is fretting about a potential leaving party as Mr Smith (Vincent Franklin) prepares to take over.
Beyond Paradise season four finale debuts on Friday, May 1, at 8pm on BBC One.
