The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has provided crucial updates regarding the new Class 9 textbooks. The Council confirmed that the printing process is advancing rapidly, and these books will soon be accessible to students nationwide. Although there is a temporary supply shortage due to high demand, measures are being taken to address this issue swiftly.

Textbooks Aligned with NEP 2020

The new Class 9 textbooks have been crafted in line with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), marking a pivotal move towards a more practical, modern, and student-focused educational framework.

Digital Versions Available

To prevent any disruption in students' learning, NCERT has already released digital versions of these textbooks for free on its official website. Students can access and download these resources at ncertbooks.ncert.gov.in and ncert.nic.in.

Multiple Access Points for Textbooks

NCERT has ensured that the textbooks are available through various channels. They can be found on several e-commerce platforms, and schools or institutions needing bulk orders are being supplied directly by NCERT.

Addressing Supply Challenges

The Council has recognized that the new curriculum changes have led to a temporary mismatch between supply and demand in the initial phase. However, they have established strong arrangements to rectify this, ensuring that the books will soon be distributed to all students.

Upcoming Social Science Textbook

As per official updates, nearly all Class 9 textbooks have been released, with only the Social Science textbook remaining in the final stages of preparation and expected to be available shortly.
