New Delhi: Commercial LPG price recorded its biggest ever hike on Friday by Rs 993 per 19 kg cylinder. This is the third consecutive monthly increase as global energy prices rise due to conflict in West Asia. The price of 19 kg of commercial LPG, used by establishments like hotels and restaurants, has now hit a record Rs 3,071.5 in Delhi, up from Rs 2,078.50 earlier.
The last increase in LPG prices was on April 1 by Rs 195.50 per cylinder. Earlier on March 1, the price of 19 kg cylinder had increased by Rs 114.5. Commercial LPG prices have increased by Rs 1,303 in a three-time increase. There has been no change in the prices of LPG gas used in domestic kitchens. Domestic LPG prices were last increased by Rs 60 on a 14.2 kg cylinder on March 7.
The price of 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is Rs 913. State-owned Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise ATF and LPG prices on the 1st of every month based on international standards and exchange rates.
Global oil prices have increased by nearly 50 percent due to disruption of energy supplies due to the war in West Asia. Petrol and diesel prices have remained stable since they were reduced by Rs 2 per liter in March last year; Currently the price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 94.72 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 87.62 per liter.
