Now only a few days are left for the results of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Before the counting of votes on May 4, actor-politician Vijay is preparing to visit major religious places of various religions.

According to sources, Vijay will visit the famous Velankanni Basilica Church on May 2. After this he will visit the historical Nagore Dargah. These two pilgrimage sites associated with Christian and Muslim faiths reflect the interfaith harmony of his ongoing spiritual journey.

There are also indications that Vijay may also visit Navagraha temples, although there is no official confirmation regarding this yet.

The timing of these proposed visits is considered politically important, because curiosity about the election results is at its peak in the state. Vijay has made his debut in electoral politics with his party in this assembly election and has emerged as an important player in the multi-cornered contest.

Earlier this week, Vijay started his spiritual journey from Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of the six major shrines of Lord Murugan. Soon after the opening of the temple, he participated in ‘Vishwaroop Darshan’ and offered prayers at several temples including Shanmugar, Valli, Devayani, Dakshinamurthy and Perumal.

The priests of the temple welcomed him with the traditional ‘Purna Kumbh’ and presented him prasad and worship material as a mark of respect. After this Vijay went to Maharashtra and visited Shirdi Sai Baba temple. He left Chennai in a private plane, had darshan and returned the same evening.

The timing of Vijay’s spiritual journey just before the counting of votes has attracted a lot of attention. Political analysts believe that the visits to various religious places are a symbolic message of communal harmony and also reflect an attempt to connect with different sections of the society.

Analysts also say that these visits could be part of a strategy to seek blessings before important election results and strengthen his public image at a decisive political juncture.
