New Delhi: For those aspiring to build a career in banking and finance, there is promising news. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a notification for the recruitment of Grade-B officers. A total of 60 positions will be filled, including roles in General, DEPR, and DSIM special cadres. The application process commenced today, April 29, and will continue until May 20. This recruitment is particularly appealing to young individuals seeking stable government jobs with attractive salaries and prestige.
Details of the 60 Grade-B Positions
The RBI Services Board issued the official notification on April 28. It outlines the recruitment of 60 positions across the General cadre, the Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR), and the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM).
Candidates can apply online from April 29 to May 20, 2026, through the official RBI website opportunities.rbi.org.in. This recruitment falls under Direct Recruitment (DR).
Eligibility Criteria for General Cadre
Applicants for the General position must hold a graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the requirement is set at 50%. Those with a postgraduate degree must have at least 55% marks (pass marks are acceptable for reserved categories). The age limit typically ranges from 21 to 30 years, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to enter the banking sector.
Specific Requirements for DEPR and DSIM Positions
The DEPR position is open to candidates with a master's degree in Economics or Finance, requiring a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Preference will be given to those with a PhD or research experience. For the DSIM role, a master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science is mandatory, also requiring 55% marks. Candidates with a four-year graduation degree may apply with 60% marks. Higher education qualifications will be advantageous.
Application Fees and Salary Information
Candidates from the General, OBC, and EWS categories must pay an application fee of ₹1003 (including 18% GST). SC/ST/PwBD candidates are required to pay only ₹118 as an information fee. RBI employees are exempt from any fees. Selected candidates will receive a starting basic salary of ₹78,450 per month, along with DA, HRA, grade pay, and other allowances, bringing the total salary close to ₹1.5 lakh.
