Udupi: A major mishap was averted near Jatka Stand in the city on April 29 after a tree suddenly fell on the road, narrowly missing a woman who was walking nearby.
The incident occurred in a busy area where concerns had already been raised over the presence of weak and potentially dangerous trees that need to be removed. Despite the fall of the tree in a crowded location, no injuries were reported to pedestrians or damage caused to vehicles.
Local residents immediately responded to the situation and cleared the fallen tree, ensuring smooth traffic movement in the area.
