While Rajasthan Royals were under pressure in the big chase, Donovan Ferreira produced some quality batting to set the franchise back on its feet. During the second innings of the away game against SunRisers Hyderabad on Monday night (April 13), Ferreira hit a huge six that stunned the cricket world.

With the help of skipper Ishan Kishan's 91 runs off 44 balls (eight fours and six sixes) and strong middle-order batting performances, SRH scored 216/6 in 20 overs. While Heinrich Klaasen scored 40 off 26 balls (one four and three sixes), Nitish Kumar Reddy (28 off 13 balls with four sixes) and Salil Arora (24 not out off 13 balls with two fours and two sixes) had the important cameos.

At chasing, in the 12th over, Donovan Ferreira slammed 14 runs against the left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey, where the South African cricketer hit two fours and a six in three successive deliveries. Ferreira's six was a monstrous hit, as every cricket fan was stunned and felt awe.

RR collapse to 9/5 after Praful Hinge’s sensational IPL debut spell

Chasing down the 217-run target, Rajasthan Royals were down to 9 for 5 in just three overs. IPL debutant Praful Hinge delivered a sensational spell in his first IPL over, where he took three wickets, including the dangerous opening batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. While all the first five RR batters failed to score at least five runs, three failed to open the scoreline (Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius).

Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja stitch a crucial century stand to revive innings

Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja revived the innings with a brilliant 118-run partnership for the sixth wicket. While Ferreira scored 69 off 44 balls with seven fours and three sixes, Jadeja scored 45 off 32 balls with five fours. Tushar Deshpande (25) was the only other RR batter to manage a double-digit score, as RR were all out for 159 runs, and SRH won by 57 runs. It was the second win for SRH this season, while the Rajasthan Royals suffered their first defeat in the IPL 2026.

Both the IPL debutants for SRH, Praful Hinge (4/34) and Sakib Hussain (4/24), claimed four wickets each. Sakib even finished with the joint best bowling figures by an Indian on IPL debut. In the meantime, Praful created history by taking four wickets inside the powerplay, as after Shoaib Akhtar, he became the second IPL debutant to achieve that record.
