The Randox Grand National Festival has finally returned in one of the most important races in the sporting calendar. The 34-runner field has been confirmed, with I Am Maximus and Nick Rockett battling for the top spot after winning the last two races.

Racing fans from across the globe will be locked into all the Aintree action. Millions will be spent in bets across the weekend but sweepstakes have remained a continuously popular part of the schedule. This allows everyone to enjoy the race in various different social circles, from large families who enjoy a flutter to workplaces that enjoy some healthy competition.

As with any race, there are plenty of choices to be made - from outsiders with a chance to major favourites with previous wins in this fixture. Six horses have already withdrawn from the Grand National but there are plenty of other runners to choose from.

This includes I Am Maximus, who is set to be rode by Willie Mullins' leading jockey Paul Townend. This major favourite took the win in 2024 and finished second last year, making him a main pick for the win this time around.

Legendary owner JP McManus has seven potential runners at the 178th edition of the festival, including Grade 1 winner Spillane's Tower. Mullins also has plenty of horses in the race like High Class Hero, Captain Cody, Spanish Harlem and Lecky Watson.

More confirmed runners include last year's winner Nick Rockett, who is aiming to defend his crown. Final Orders and Perceval Legallois, trained by Gavin Cromwell, will also take part.
