I'm A Celebrity... South Africa viewers were left fuming just minutes into the latest episode, with many threatening to switch off over David Haye's behaviour in camp. The boxer had already raised eyebrows in a previous episode after choosing Scarlett for the main camp while sending Corrie legend Beverley Callard, 69, to the tougher Savannah Scrub - and fans say tonight only made things worse. ITV viewers were quick to react as Haye appeared frustrated in camp on Tuesday's episode, particularly struggling with basic tasks like lighting the fire - before Mo Farah stepped in to save the day.
One viewer wrote: "Is it just me, or is David Haye coming across REALLY badly so far?!?!?" Another joked: "David every time he can't get the fire started and Mo gets it first attempt" alongside a meme. Others were more direct, with one saying: "David is just all talk and it's annoying. Can't even light a fire. He's been so vocal about the team and who gets what, it's annoying. You'd think he'd be somewhat useful."
A fourth added: "Had enough of David already!" While another fumed: "Who else is voting for David to be kicked out when u can?"(sic)
One viewer threatened: "Actually don't know if I can watch david haye on #imaceleb he's insufferable. He needs to go or I'm changing the channel he's so arrogant."
The backlash comes as the second series of the spin-off sees a fresh batch of former contestants return in a bid to be crowned the next "Legend of the Jungle".
This year's line-up includes Scarlett Moffatt, Adam Thomas, Beverley Callard and David Haye - but it's the former boxer who has quickly become the most divisive figure.
Haye had already sparked controversy earlier in the series after attempting to take control of key decisions, despite Adam and Ashley Roberts being named team captains.
Tensions escalated further when his team won a challenge and he chose to banish Beverley to the tougher secondary camp, saying: "It's survival. We've got to eat."
He also suggested she would struggle in challenges - a comment that clearly didn't go down well. Beverley hit back: "You are going to pay for that decision."
Later, she admitted she had been so frustrated she had considered "chinning" him, highlighting just how tense relations had become.
