Defining love can be quite challenging, as its meaning varies for everyone. Love manifests in various forms, including affection for God, parents, children, and even money. However, the romantic love between a boy and a girl often takes center stage. In India, many families still do not accept love marriages, viewing them as a loss of face in society.

For a middle-class family, the idea of a love marriage can be difficult to digest, especially if their daughter falls in love with another girl instead of a boy. The thought of a girl marrying another girl can be shocking for parents. Yet, love transcends physical appearance, wealth, and even gender. In today's world, it is increasingly common for boys to love boys and girls to love girls, although this remains a significant issue for many Indian families.

Take the case of two young women from Gurugram and Jhajjar districts. Aged 19 and 20, they surprised their families by marrying at a temple in Sohna. The two had been friends for seven years, and their friendship blossomed into love. Initially, they shared their love story with their families, but were advised to forget about their relationship. Undeterred, the two women decided to marry in a temple, following Hindu rituals, despite their families' disapproval.

In this union, the girl from Gurugram took on the role of the wife, while the girl from Jhajjar assumed the role of the husband. The Gurugram girl had gone missing ten days prior, prompting her father to file a missing person report. When the police located her, she revealed her intention to marry her friend. Both young women attended the same school, and their parents labeled the marriage as against societal norms, which led them to take this bold step.

Mahesh Kumar, the officer in charge of the Helinmadi police station, stated that both women were presented in a local court in Patodi on Saturday. The court was informed that both girls are adults and have married in a temple. Despite their families' attempts to persuade them otherwise, the couple has chosen to stay together and does not wish to return home.
