India has got a big relief amid the increasing tension in West Asia and the uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz. Two Indian-flagged ships carrying about 92,700 metric tonnes of LPG have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are now fast moving towards India. With the arrival of these ships, there is hope that there will be some reduction in the possible pressure on LPG supply in the country. According to government sources, both these ships will reach major ports of Gujarat in the next two days, which will strengthen the availability of gas at domestic and commercial level.

The government is constantly monitoring the situation so that the supply system is not affected. Officials also said that there is sufficient availability of crude oil in the country and refineries are working at full capacity.

The government has clarified that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel and there are sufficient reserves in the country.
