Yes, banks in the country will not remain closed on the occasion of Lohri on January 13, but will remain open. Whereas on January 14, there is a bank holiday in some states on Makar Sankranti. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti / Uttarayan Punyakal / Pongal / Maghe Sankranti / Magh Bihu and on the occasion of Hazrat Ali's birthday Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad - Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad - Telangana, Itanagar, Kanpur and Lucknow. Banks will remain closed.

  • January 1 - New Year's Day/Lusong/Namsung: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata and Shillong.
  • January 2- Lusong/Namsung/New Year Celebration: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl, Gangtok.
  • January 5 - Sunday: There will be a holiday for banks across the country.
  • 6 January- Birthday of Shri Guru Gobind Singh: Banks will remain closed in Chandigarh.
  • January 11 - Missionary Day/Imoinu Iratpa/Second Saturday: There will be a bank holiday in the entire country except Imphal and Aizawl.
  • 12 January- Sunday: There will be a holiday for banks across the country.
  • 14 January- Makar Sankranti/Uttarayan Punyakal/Pongal/Maghe Sankranti/Magh Bihu/Hazrat Ali's Birthday: Banks in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad-Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad-Telangana, Itanagar, Kanpur, Lucknow. Will remain closed.
  • 15 January- Thiruvalluvar Day: Banks will remain closed in Chennai.
  • January 16- Uzhavar Thirunal: Banks will remain closed in Chennai.
  • 19 January- Sunday: There will be a holiday for banks across the country.
  • 23 January- Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birthday/Veer Surendrasai Jayanti: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata.
  • 25 January- Fourth Saturday: There will be a holiday for banks across the country.
  • 26 January - Sunday, Republic Day: There will be a holiday for banks across the country.
