Real Madrid go 2-0 up after another huge Inter error

José Mourinho’s much-awaited Champions League return to the Real Madrid dugout against former club Inter saw the Spanish side benefit from two costly gifts. After a fairly even start, Los Blancos moved into a comfortable lead by half-time because of two major mistakes from the Nerazzurri.

First, Germany international Yann Aurel Bisseck committed a dreadful error and Kylian Mbappé punished it without mercy. Then Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez took one gamble too many inside his own penalty area. His attempt to beat Federico Valverde with a piece of skill went badly wrong, and Real’s captain gladly accepted the second present.

After coming through last season’s league phase while conceding only seven goals, Inter have already shipped two in less than 45 minutes of the new Champions League campaign. Both of them were entirely self-inflicted.
