WhatsApp Investment Scam:  Another cyber scam case has come to light in which a 45-year-old man from Tripunithura, Kerala lost Rs 4.05 crore in two months. A scammer sent this man a WhatsApp message containing a link to an app. It had an attractive investment offer promising high profits. In such a situation, the person got trapped in the trap of scammers in the greed of making quick and more money.

The case reported from Kerala began when the accused contacted the man. The accused identified herself as Avantika Dev. She introduced herself as a representative of a popular private financial services company. She asked the man to download an app called Br-Block Pro via WhatsApp. This app was allegedly designed for share trading.

The lure of more profit:

To deceive the person, the scammer presented a fake report of high profits earned by other users. He claimed that other people have also joined this system and are earning profits. Based on his words and false reports, the person believed him and downloaded the app. Then he started investing through this app.

From September 26 to December 9, the person deposited money several times, thinking that he would get good profits. But he did not get any profit. Not only this, he could not even get back his invested amount. When the person tried to withdraw his profit, he did not get any response. After this, he got scared and realized that he had become a victim of a scam. Then he contacted the cyber police after which he lodged an FIR.

Fraud happening through WhatsApp groups:
