The Karnataka government has declared a three-day state of mourning from December 10 to 12 following the passing of former Chief Minister and External Affairs Minister SM Krishna. Key government flags will fly their flags at half-mast. No government events or entertainment programmes will take place during the mourning period, according to the official order. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared that the funeral would be held with full state honors in Krushna's hometown, Maddur. The final rites are set for Wednesday at 4 p.m.According to the official notification, the three-day state mourning starts from today i.e. December 10 and will end on December 12. All government buildings will fly the national flag at half mast during this time, and there won't be any official entertainment programmes, it stated.All banks, both private and public, are likely t be open tomorrow as there has been no such holiday announcement for banks. The public has been allowed to honor SM Krishna. Arrangements have been made for tributes in Maddur from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and in Bengaluru until 8 a.m.The ongoing winter legislature session is likely to be affect by Krishna’s demise. In view of the circumstances, the government and opposition parties intend to convene a Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting to determine whether to adjourn or continue the session.
