Auto News Desk, State Bank of India (SBI) has designed a new FASTag to reduce travel time. According to media reports, it is specifically for vehicle category-4 (VC-04), which includes car, jeep and van categories. SBI said that this will help toll plaza operators to easily identify wrongly issued tags.
Ease of taking immediate action
Currently, VC 4 tags are being installed on vehicles (trucks), due to which toll plaza owners suffer a huge loss of income. SBI said that this new Fastag has been made available from 30 August 2024. With this new design of this new Fastag, the category of vehicles can be easily identified. Not only this, it will be easy for the toll employees to take immediate action against the wrong category of vehicles.
Will help in increasing income
SBI's new FASTag will also help the ecosystem to reduce wrong charge back cases and increase revenue for the government by collecting the correct toll fee. With this new design, toll employees will take immediate action against vehicles of the wrong category. It will also create a habit among customers to buy the correct category of Fastag to avoid hassle. According to media reports, the new FASTag has been designed and launched in the market to overcome the problem of using VC-04 tag on high-class vehicles like trucks. According to SBI, the newly designed FASTag will make it easier for toll employees to quickly identify the correct category of vehicle, which will help them take immediate action against those using the wrong tag. SBI's new FASTag can prove to be better in many ways. Now it remains to be seen how much change comes with its use and whether it will really work correctly? It will be known about it soon.
