SBI Electoral Bond Data: Who Are The Top Political Donors | Check Details

The Election Commission of India (ECI) complied with the orders of the Supreme Court of India and released the electoral bonds data to the public on Thursday evening. This information, submitted by the State Bank of India (SBI) on Tuesday, is now available for scrutiny.

Here is the list of the top 10 donors to political parties:
1. Future Gaming and Hotel Services PR - Rs. 1,368 crore
2. Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd - Rs. 966 crore
3. Qwik Supply Chain Pvt Ltd - Rs. 410 crore
4. Vedanta Ltd - Rs. 400 crore
5. Haldia Energy Ltd - Rs. 377 crore
6. Bharti Group - Rs. 247 crore
7. Essel Mining & Industries Ltd - Rs. 224 crore
8. Western UP Power Transmission Company Ltd - Rs. 220 crore
9. Keventer Foodpark Infra Ltd - Rs. 195 crore
10. Madanlal Ltd - Rs. 185 crore

These top ten donors collectively contributed more than a third of the total donations by value, amounting to Rs. 4,200 crore. This is equal to 34.5 percent of the total value of the bonds based on denomination value as shared by the Election Commission. And all of these donors who are a part of the top 10 list are corporate entities.

Additionally, the list includes other major corporations such as Grasim Industries, Megha Engineering, Apollo Tyres, Lakshmi Mittal, Edelweiss, PVR, Keventer, Sula Wine and Piramal Enterprises, among others.

The State Bank of India (SBI) clarified that the data covers electoral bonds purchased and redeemed between April 12, 2019, and February 15, 2024, totaling 22,217 bonds. This detailed information provides insight into the financial transactions underlying political funding during this period.
