One of the nations where UPI may be used for online payments is Nepal. According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Indian customers may now utilize QR codes to make payments in Nepal using a Unified Payment Interface (UPI).

The biggest payment network in Nepal, Fonepay Payment Service, and NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) struck an agreement in September of last year. In line with this, the neighboring nation has begun accepting payments via UPI. After that, UPI has now been available for cross-border payments between Nepal and India.

According to NPCI’s announcement, Indian customers would be able to make online payments using UPI-based applications like Paytm, PhonePay, Google Pay, and others after the cooperation.

Chief Executive Officer of NIPL Ritesh Shukla said that this project will improve ties between the two nations and bring about revolutionary improvements in the digital payment industry.

UPI service overseas

Similar to Nepal, Singapore, Canada, Oman, Saudi Arabia, France, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provide Indian UPI service.
