Real Madrid got back to winning ways in LaLiga with a 4-1 triumph over Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabéu, as striker Kylian Mbappé scored twice for José Mourinho’s team.

Mbappé put Madrid in front from the penalty spot, before Real Madrid left-back Álvaro Carreras and midfielder Jude Bellingham stretched the lead to 3-0 before the interval. Rayo Vallecano forward Sergio Camello pulled one back soon after the break, but Mbappé struck again in stoppage time to complete the scoring.

Rayo created the first real chance of the match, with winger Giorgi Tsitaishvili forcing Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois into a low save in the ninth minute. Madrid responded shortly afterwards when Vinícius Júnior sent Álvaro Carreras into the box and Rayo defender Florian Lejeune brought him down.

Kylian Mbappé stepped up for the resulting penalty in the 14th minute and sent Rayo goalkeeper Emil Audero the wrong way to give Madrid the lead.

The home side doubled their advantage just three minutes later. Lejeune misplaced a back-pass towards his goalkeeper and Mbappé seized on the loose ball before picking out Carreras, who advanced into the area and finished with his left foot.

Madrid made it three in the 35th minute. Real Madrid winger Vinícius cut the ball back from the left and Jude Bellingham was left completely unmarked inside the penalty area, allowing the England international to guide his finish beyond Audero.

Rayo began the second half with greater intent and Pedro Díaz hit the post from long range before Sergio Camello cut the deficit in the 51st minute. Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger lost possession while trying to play the ball forward, leaving Camello free to gather the loose ball and finish underneath Courtois.

The visitors continued to pose a threat, with Tsitaishvili drawing another save from Courtois and later heading over at the far post. Madrid gradually reasserted control as the half went on, while Audero denied Denzel Dumfries and later kept out attempts from Arda Güler and Mbappé.

Mbappé got his second goal in the first minute of stoppage time. Real Madrid midfielder Güler helped shift the ball across the pitch before finding the French forward on the right, and Mbappé fired a powerful shot across Audero and into the bottom-left corner to seal the 4-1 scoreline.
