Congress President and Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge has launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the deaths due to poisonous liquor in Madhya Pradesh. He posted on 'X', “BJP has crossed the heights of corruption in Madhya Pradesh and the state of negligence is such that now even people's lives have no value left.”
Mallikarjun Kharge said that 31 people have lost their lives due to drinking poisonous liquor in Sagar district, while 11 people are still struggling between life and death. 31 families were destroyed, some lost their son, some lost their father and some lost their husband, but for the BJP government this is just another accident.

He said that this has become the way of BJP for the last 22 years. Kharge cornered the government by mentioning several incidents. He said that more than 27 children died in Balaghat. The High Court had to reprimand the government because the BJP government was still waiting for the survey report even after a month had passed. In Indore, contaminated water took the lives of 36 people. 25 children died due to poisonous cough syrup. Whereas in Sidhi, 53 pregnant women died in one year.

Mallikarjun Kharge said that whether it is poison in alcohol, water or medicine, every time the people of Madhya Pradesh are paying the price with their lives. The double engine government seems to be running away from accountability at double the speed. The Congress President alleged that when the public demands justice, water cannon and tear gas are used in response. Be it the Central or BJP state governments, no one takes accountability and no one gets punished.
