Where to prepare organic manure?
For this, first of all, choose a place in your garden from which water can drain immediately. A light shade site is considered best for organic manure. However, compost can be produced in both sunlight and shade. Avoid areas where rainwater collects, as excess moisture can cause the compost to rot and give it a bad smell.
Take care of the air
Do not make the mistake of throwing kitchen waste directly on the floor. For organic compost, first put dry leaves on the bottom, then pile wood sticks and any dry waste on the bottom. The way to avoid odor problems in organic fertilizers is to maintain a proper proportion of green and brown material. Green waste includes vegetable peels, tea leaves, grass. Brown waste includes dried leaves, branches, cardboard, paper, dried plant material, wood chips or wood shavings. For better compost, mix 2 to 3 parts brown waste with 1 part green waste. This will prevent the manure from rotting too much and it will also not smell bad.
Wrap and combine the food
Wrap vegetables or fruit peels with dry leaves or cardboard or brown dry material before disposing of the skins of vegetables or fruits to avoid fish disturbance and foul odors from manure. This prevents flies and reduces odors.
Take special care during monsoons
If you have composted outdoors, rain can leach water and spoil the compost. To avoid this, protect the compost from water by covering it with a lid or something. By following these tips you can prepare organic compost at home.
