He further said, 'Age is just a number. If he is working hard then age does not matter. I see that passion of Shami Bhai. He is performing very well and having him in the team gives us confidence.

Considering Shami's age, his career is considered to be on the decline but Ishaan said that he is ready to bowl some extra overs. Ishaan said, 'Shami bhai had asked for extra overs to take wickets. I really liked his attitude as a captain. This also increases the confidence of the captain. He still has the desire to play for the Indian team. He wants to be a part of the Indian team again.

Tilak Verma also praised Shami

Shami played his last match for India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand in Dubai. South Zone captain Tilak Verma also praised Shami but said that his team is ready to face this clever fast bowler. Tilak said, 'Playing against Shami Bhai will be a good challenge for us.
