Germany international Nick Woltemade completed a loan move from Newcastle United to Juventus on the final day of the summer transfer window.
But Germany legend Dietmar Hamann feels the 24-year-old would have been better served by remaining with the English club.
The 53-year-old also believes Borussia Dortmund, who had been linked with the striker as well, would have suited him better.
“I was surprised when I read it. I think he would have fitted in at Dortmund,” Hamann said on Sky on Tuesday evening.
“In Italy, Milan have been where the action has been in recent years. Juventus do not play in the Champions League. In terms of quality, though, they are a pretty good team.”
“I would have stayed at Newcastle. I would have preferred to see him move to BVB. I don’t really like the move.”
