The direct impact of fluctuations in the Indian stock market and changes in global indexes is being seen on the big industrialists of the country. Recently, due to the strong selling in the shares of Adani Group, Group Chairman Gautam Adani has suffered a big blow. The question in the minds of investors is that after this huge decline, how much has their total wealth i.e. net worth decreased and what is the main reason for this.
During the trading of Indian stock market, sudden sharp selling started in the shares of Adani Group companies. Major stocks like Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Adani Green Energy and Adani Energy Solutions closed in the red with heavy losses. According to experts, the main reason for this heavy selling has been the increased volatility in the market just before MSCI rebalancing and widespread risk aversion. Since a large part of Gautam Adani's total wealth is linked to the shares of these listed companies, the fall in the shares has had a direct impact on his net worth.
According to the latest ranking of Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Gautam Adani was among the biggest losers across the world due to this business turmoil. Within a single day, there was a huge decline of about 9.50 billion dollars i.e. more than Rs 9 lakh crore in Indian rupees in his total wealth. After this big financial crisis, the total net worth of Gautam Adani has now come down to about 103 billion dollars. Due to this decline, he has slipped to 19th place in the Global Rich Index, although market experts believe that this fluctuation is part of global market strategies and technical rebalancing.
