Buying a new car is a special moment for many people and some owners go to great lengths to celebrate the deliveries of their cars. However, a recent incident in Pune has shown how a new-car celebration can turn into a police case. Recently, a video has been shared online in which a man who bought a brand-new Mahindra BE6 and Toyota Fortuner blocked a national highway for his reel shoot. And as a result, the Bavdhan and Pimpri-Chinchwad police managed to seize the new cars and arrest the owners.

The video of this road block by a Mahindra BE6 and multiple Fortuners and other SUVs has been shared on Instagram by Sohan Chavan Photography on their page. In this short clip, a black Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition SUV with a massive garland was seen driving on a national highway. Just behind this electric SUV was a flatbed with a Toyota Fortuner Legender Plus covered in a red sheet.

Also, along with the BE6, there were a few Toyota Fortuners and other SUVs and small hatchbacks which were following the SUV in a convoy and were blocking the national highway. This video then shows the flatbed truck being taken to an empty field where the Fortuner Legender Plus was unloaded. At this spot, all other cars were seen circling around this Fortuner and the owners were seen flaunting their new SUV.

Soon after the video became viral online, the Pimpri-Chinchwad and Bavdhan police in Pune took action. They also shared a post in which the before part showed the Mahindra BE6 and Fortuners and other cars blocking the highway. However, soon after this, the second part showed the Bavdhan police station and two of the owners being under arrest by the police authorities.

The video also showed the seized black Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition and one of the Toyota Fortuner Legenders. According to reports, the main accused in this case is Somnath Ashok Kedari who purchased the new Mahindra BE6 on August 27 and, after taking its delivery, he took this SUV to take delivery of the Toyota Fortuner Legender Plus.

Following which, in order to shoot the reel, the Fortuner was placed on a flatbed which was accompanied by other Fortuners and the BE6 and the highway was blocked for the shoot of the reel. In the video, we can note that a massive traffic pile-up had formed behind the vehicles which were blocking the road. The incident took place between the Balewadi and Bhujbal Chowk area on the Pune-Bengaluru highway.

Once the video went viral online, the incident came to the attention of the police. The Bavdhan police then began identifying the people and vehicles involved using the video and other available evidence. Following which, the police took action and arrested Somnath Kedari and his driver, identified as Ajay Yadav. As part of the action, police authorities seized the new Mahindra BE6 along with a few Toyota Fortuners.

New-car delivery videos and reels have become extremely common today. And many owners now use convoys, drone cameras and elaborate shoots to showcase their vehicles. However, a public highway is not a place where this should be done. And stopping vehicles and driving unusually slowly for a photoshoot which affects hundreds of other motorists is something which has to be taken very seriously and the police action has proved that this will not be tolerated.
