Shri Krishna Janmashtami is included in the major festivals of Hindu religion. This festival is celebrated every year on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month as the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna. According to religious belief, on this date Lord Vishnu took the eighth incarnation in the form of Shri Krishna.
On the day of Janmashtami, special worship of the child form of Lord Shri Krishna i.e. Laddu Gopal is done in homes and temples. According to astrology and religious beliefs, bringing some auspicious items into the house before Janmashtami is considered auspicious. It is said that keeping these things in the house with devotion and taking proper care of them maintains a positive environment. 1. Flute
The identity of Lord Shri Krishna is also linked to his flute. Therefore, bringing a flute into the house before Janmashtami is considered auspicious. You can buy a clean wooden flute and keep it in the temple of your home. In religious beliefs, flute is considered a symbol of love, sweetness and positivity. It is said that keeping it at the worship place of the house strengthens the feeling of mutual love and harmony in the family. The flute should always be kept with reverence in a clean place.
2. Statue of cow and calf
It is considered auspicious to keep the idol of a cow and its calf in the house on Janmashtami. It is believed that the statue of cow and calf is considered a symbol of nutrition, happiness and prosperity in the family. Before Janmashtami, you can bring such an idol home and keep it in the temple near Lord Krishna. If there is not enough space in the temple then install it in a clean and holy place. Instead of keeping it merely as an object of decoration, it should be kept with reverence.
3. Sri Yantra
On the occasion of Janmashtami, worship of Lakshmi-Narayan along with Lord Krishna is also considered to have special significance. According to religious beliefs, worship of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi creates an atmosphere of happiness, peace and prosperity in the house. Before Janmashtami, it is also considered auspicious to bring Shree Yantra in the house and install it properly. It is believed that worshiping Shri Yantra brings financial stability and prosperity. It should be kept clean in the worship place of the house.
4. Basil plant
Tulsi is considered very sacred and revered in Hindu religion. Tulsi group has special importance in the worship of Lord Vishnu and Shri Krishna. In such a situation, if you do not have a Tulsi plant in your house, then you can bring a Tulsi plant home before Janmashtami. Tulsi should be planted in a clean and appropriate place and served regularly. There is a religious belief that in the house where the Tulsi plant remains healthy and green, positivity and auspiciousness prevails there. Even in the worship of Janmashtami, Tulsi Dal is offered to Lord Krishna.
5. Peacock Feather
Peacock feather is always seen adorned in Kanha’s crown, hence it is considered dear to Lord Krishna. Bringing peacock feathers to the house before Janmashtami is considered auspicious. It can be offered to Lord Krishna during puja. After this, the peacock feather can be kept in the worship place or safe place of the house. There is also a tradition of keeping it in the safe and it is believed that this has the potential to remove financial problems and increase opportunities for financial gain.
