Punjab & Haryana High Court Driver Recruitment 2026: The Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, has invited applications to fill 25 vacant driver positions. The detailed recruitment notification was released on August 28, 2026. Online applications have commenced, and interested candidates can apply until 11:59 PM on September 18, 2026. According to the notice, out of the 25 total posts, 21 are reserved for the General category, 3 for SC/ST/BC categories, and 1 for Ex-Servicemen. However, the High Court has clarified that the number of vacancies may be increased or decreased based on requirements. Let us look at the eligibility criteria and who can apply.

**Who Can Apply**
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard examination. Additionally, they must have studied Hindi or Punjabi at the matriculation (10th) level. Candidates are required to hold a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license. Furthermore, a minimum of two years of car-driving experience is mandatory, and candidates must not have any record of conviction for negligent driving.

**Age Limit**
Regarding the age limit, candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age as of the application deadline, September 18, 2026. Ex-servicemen will be granted age relaxation in accordance with the rules.

**Application Fee**
The application fee is ₹1,000 for General category candidates and for SC/ST/BC candidates from outside Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. Meanwhile, SC/ST/BC and Ex-Servicemen candidates from Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are required to pay a fee of ₹800.

**Selection Process**
Candidates will be selected based on a Practical Test-cum-Interview. Selected candidates will initially be placed on a trial basis, and their permanent appointment will be considered only after a successful evaluation. The High Court has also stated that appointed candidates may be posted in Delhi or any district of Punjab and Haryana from time to time. Online applications will be accepted only through the High Court's official website, www.highcourtchd.gov.in.
