Monsoon Alert: The mood of nature is continuously deteriorating across the country. Torrential monsoon rains are now becoming a disaster instead of a relief in many states. The maximum impact of rain is being seen in Uttar Pradesh. Due to continuous torrential water, major rivers of the state are flowing near or above the danger mark. Recently, due to strong current, an old bridge collapsed, due to which dozens of villages have been cut off from the main cities. However, the administration had closed the roads in time, due to which a major accident was averted. The administration has instructed people living in riverside areas to move to safe places.

Ganga becomes fierce in Bihar, people reach relief camps

The situation in the neighboring state Bihar also remains worrying. Ganga and other rivers are in spate in many major districts including Patna, Bhagalpur and Buxar. The river water has entered the coastal areas and low-lying residential areas. People are forced to leave their homes and take shelter in relief camps. Due to erosion and waterlogging, farmers' crops have also been submerged, due to which they are facing huge losses.

Red-orange alert issued in MP and Chhattisgarh

The Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts in many districts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. There is a possibility of strong winds, lightning and heavy rain in a few hours in these states. Traffic on the roads has been affected due to water logging in both hilly and plain areas. NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed to deal with any emergency.

Meteorological Department warnings and safety guidelines

According to IMD, torrential rains will continue for the next two days in a total of 18 states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha and Uttarakhand. Weather experts have appealed to people not to leave their homes unless there is some urgent work. Avoid driving on waterlogged roads. Do not take shelter under electric poles and old trees. In case of emergency, immediately contact the local administration or helpline number. The administration is fully prepared and is constantly monitoring the situation.

In view of this worsening weather pattern, the government machinery is in full active mode in all the affected states. Control rooms are working 24 hours so that any untoward incident can be dealt with immediately.
