Five unresolved issues are still on Deco's desk with just over 48 hours left before the end of an exceptionally busy transfer window for Barcelona.

Barcelona sporting director Deco has overseen a string of moves aimed at strengthening Hansi Flick's squad, while also trying to bring in financial returns from players who do not feature prominently in the German coach's immediate plans.

According to Sport, the Catalan club has already completed most of its work. Even so, it heads into the final stretch of the transfer window with several matters still awaiting a final resolution.

Jesus emerges as a surprise deal after the failed Alvarez pursuit

Mundo Deportivo and journalist Fabrizio Romano reported, with Sport later confirming, that Barcelona have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus for around €10 million, plus variables and incentives.

The agreement is complete. The Brazil striker will officially become a Barcelona player once he successfully undergoes his medical.

Barcelona were unwilling to spend heavily on their fallback plan after failing to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

As Sport had reported earlier, the future of the Croatian goalkeeper depends on the situation surrounding Julian Alvarez and, more specifically, on Financial Fair Play.

Barcelona will not register Dominik Livakovic until there is greater clarity over the Argentine situation, or over their alternative option, Gabriel Jesus. The club do not want to use up part of the wage bill they may still need in order to sign a number 9.

If no new striker arrives, or if Barcelona are able to register both players together, the plan within the club's sporting department is straightforward. Unless there is a change of stance, Livakovic will remain in the squad this season and immediately take up the role of second-choice goalkeeper. If that cannot be done, then the goalkeeper will leave on loan.

What next for Balde?

All indications had pointed towards Alejandro Balde staying at the Catalan club, determined to reclaim his place in the starting line-up and once again become an important player for Flick. However, Sport has revealed that Deco is working on a swap arrangement with Inter Milan involving Federico Dimarco.

The arrival of Joao Cancelo and the impressive form of Espart have placed Alejandro Balde in a difficult position. A move to Italy could still alter his thinking.

Barcelona will not push the player towards the exit. However, the club will be honest with him, just as Flick has been in private and in press conferences, about the role he is likely to have if he chooses to stay.

Casado still considering his options

After being left out of the squad picture for several weeks, the midfielder has multiple possibilities in front of him as he considers bringing his Barcelona spell to an end.

Besiktas are currently leading the race, although the player would prefer a move to one of Europe's top leagues.

The Saudi Pro League has also shown interest, but that possibility has never entirely convinced Casado.

His future is expected to be decided right at the end of the transfer window. At present, the indications are that he will leave permanently.

The departure of the last remaining La Masia player is close to being settled

Barcelona have already finalised the exits of Toni Fernandez to Venezia and Alvaro Cortes to Royal Antwerp, although both moves are still awaiting official confirmation. Now another academy product has been marked for departure: Guille Fernandez.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has spent several days negotiating the terms that would bring the player's association with Barcelona to an end.

Fernandez's talent has attracted attention from across Europe, with clubs from the Premier League and the Bundesliga showing interest.

All parties want the move completed. Even so, a small number of details still have to be sorted out.

Barcelona are standing firm on two key points. They want to retain a significant percentage of the player's economic rights, and they also want a buy-back clause set at an appropriate price.

The club initially considered offering a long-term contract renewal followed by a loan move. In the end, they opted for the same formula used for the rest of their academy players this summer: a sale while keeping part of the player's rights, along with a buy-back option.
